DR. BARBARA FREEMAN | BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Barbara is the creator and team leader of The Savings Collaborative, a non-profit financial savings and credit club to help vulnerable communities build financial security. Barbara has more than 25 years of experience in education, digital technology, research and development, risk management, skills development, social innovation, monitoring and evaluation, and leadership for change. She has worked extensively on 5 continents and is a long-standing consultant to the World Bank Education Global practice. Barbara is the creator of multiple educational interventions and innovative entrepreneurial initiatives, including co-founding KPMG Consulting’s Risk Management practice in Southeast Asia.

Barbara was a visiting scholar for many years at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education and a visiting professor at the University of Sao Paolo. Earlier in her career, Barbara worked on Wall Street and the City of London as a currency options trader.
