We connected a small group of students at Osinantei back to their lessons after Kenya’s extended 2020 school closures in response to COVID. After observing the impact this program was having on students, the head District Officer wrote us:

OSINANTEI

2020: COVID Remote Learning project

2021-Ongoing: Community Outreach and Enrollment

“On behalf of my office, teachers, learners and the entire Loita community, I must sincerely thank you for coming up with the program to keep students learning at home. It is a unique program that not even our government thought of. Our students would have been so disadvantaged without this opportunity to learn online. This will go an extra mile for us, and help us track our students – especially our girls who are now a higher risk of pregnancy and FGM. You have used this COVID-19 pandemic positively to impact knowledge and develop new technology skills in your own staff and for our students and teachers.

This program must have looked like a dream at the start, but now it has become a reality in our villages. Your team risked their lives crossing the entire Loita region at odd hours and through bad weather to avoid the curfews to ensure that every child in Loita had access to their lessons. Local parents and the entire Loita Hills leadership can say we have a caring partner in For the Good. This program will not only help our schools during the time of this pandemic but in the future as well. We are forever grateful.”
